Well, to cut a long story short - I have just been admitted to MIT and Harvard, and I, with a lot of hesitations, have chosen the latter. I should highlight that this is a transfer admission with an admission rate of just 0.6% this year (2000 claims for just 12 places)! Of course, I wasn't alone on this path.
First, with a perfectly balanced blend of humor, intelligence, and expertise, Leo managed to create the right mood and a productive atmosphere. We have always had a chemistry, from the very first meeting. This, together with my friends' recommendations, enabled me to put all my trust in this tutor and relax. I was just following his strategy and vision.
Second, I should highlight several advantages of our lessons:
- each lesson was tailored to my needs and delivered with unprecedented attention and care (perfect for egoists!);
- Leo managed to see the root of any problem I faced;
- not only did Leo perform functions of a tutor, he was a counsellor and (almost) a psychologist for me; he was always there for me;
- small things were real game-changers - flexibility of schedule, 24/7 support via voice/text messages in Telegram, book/podcast/video blog recommendations etc. etc.
Third, when I was doing things right, Leo was just helping me and cheering me up - as if I was a sportsman and he was my trainer. However, when I wandered from the track and he had concerns, he notified me immediately and directly, which is important. For instance, after watching some YouTube blogs, I was fixed on the idea of following a canned essay structure in the Writing part, but Leo insisted that we learn to use our imagination and improvise. This saved my exam when in TOEFL Independent Writing I got a COMPLETELY new type of a question I hadn't seen before. But I was prepared and did really well!
Finally, my scores are:
TOEFL - 112
SAT Physics - 800
SAT Mathematics Level 1 - 800
SAT Mathematics Level 2 - 800
I have come to a conclusion that all this wouldn't have been possible without Leo's help.
Thank you! You are simply the best!
